What is the best part about working at Muskoka Woods?
The best part about working at Muskoka Woods is definitely the community. I have met my best friends while working at camp and so many people I know will be in my life for years to come. I laugh the most and feel the most loved when I’m with camp people. I love the way that I’m challenged working at Muskoka Woods. I leave each summer feeling joyful and having grown in ways I could not have imagined.
What are some of your favourite Muskoka Woods memories?
It’s so hard to pick because there are too many to count! As a guest, my favourite memories are of the evening programs and deep chats with my counsellors and other girls in my cabin. Being on staff, my favourite memories are of the kids I’ve counselled, being a part of the program team, and growing closer with people through fun adventures and impactful conversations.
What are the top three activities offered at Muskoka Woods?
If I were to pick three activities offered at Muskoka Woods, they would probably be Ropes Course, Sailing and Waterskiing/Wakeboarding. Ropes and sailing were my favourite activities when I would attend camp as a guest! My favourite activities were always those where I could be outside, do something challenging and spend time on the water. I never did waterskiing/wakeboarding as a guest, but it is something I always wish I did — and I know it’s an activity that guests adore!
How has Muskoka Woods made a difference in your life?
Muskoka Woods has made all the difference in my life. I can confidently say I would not be the person I am today without Muskoka Woods. Muskoka Woods has helped me become a leader and grow in confidence. It has added an immeasurable amount of joy to my life because of the people I have met and the memories I’ve made. It has made me feel so loved. More than anything, it is a place that has given me the space and the freedom to be myself.
