Come Get it! The Remarkable Meals of Muskoka Woods — Plus Bonus Recipes

Published on: March 30, 2020

When you think of food at summer camp, what comes to mind? Sloppy Joe’s? Hamburgers and hot dogs? Perhaps something similar to Jake and Eddie’s “Eggs Erroneous” in this clip from Ernest Goes to Camp

Sure, camp food has received a bad rap over the years, but Muskoka Woods has been doing its best to change that.

Muskoka Woods takes great care to ensure meals are both nutritious and delicious. Served buffet style, camp guests enjoy a wide variety of foods, including a full salad bar and vegetarian meal options.

A typical Sunday menu on the shores of Lake Rosseau might look a little something like this:

  • Guests power up at breakfast with their choice between hot and cold cereals, a yogurt bar with all the fixings, veggie and sausage frittatas, cinnamon rolls and danishes, toast and diced home fries.
  • Lunch includes a salad bar, turkey or veggie wraps, Philly steak sandwiches, and nacho supreme with pudding cups and fruit for dessert.
  • Dinner features a salad bar, penne pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs and sausage and garlic cheese rolls.
  • If that’s not enough, an evening snack includes banana bread, sherbet ice cups and apples.

Deelish! If that’s how delectable the seven days at camp begins, imagine how scrumptious the rest of the week’s meals will be? Psst! You can check out a sample menu to see for yourself.

Does your child have special dietary needs? Let Muskoka Woods know when you register and the camp will be glad to accommodate them.

Make sure your campers bring their appetites this summer — they’ll need them!
